Tim Weigelt

Personal motto

The wood sculptor and freelance artist Tim Weigelt was born in Jena, Thuringia in 1976. This is where he also grew up and got a passion for two things: wood and sea. Both have remained with the artist to this day.

In 1995, Tim Weigelt graduated from high school and started an apprenticeship as carpenter. After one year he changed to the university and signed in at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena for a study of art history. In 2000 he started a training course to become a wood sculptor at the State Vocational School for wood sculptors in Empfertshausen an der Röhn. He graduated in 2003 and went on to the FAK Schneeberg (Faculty of Applied Arts). In 2006 he finished his education with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Since 2006 Tim Weigelt has been a freelance artist. Figures, objects, exhibitions and courses are the main point of his work, with which he contacts art connoisseurs beyond Germany‘s borders.
